Jenafer Vespucci- Studio Founder, Music Teacher

Jenafer has been teaching music for 20 years. She is the founder of Birdsong Music, and teaches studio lessons in the Cherokee Point neighborhood of San Diego. She is also a teacher at Mark Twain High School. She began teaching music in 2002 in the community education department of Seminole State College, where she also received a degree in music education. Jenafer’s primary focus in college was classical and jazz guitar, but she also cultivated skills in piano and vocal performance. She studied jazz improvisation, sight singing and ear training, theory and composition, and ensemble performance. Jenafer began playing and studying bass guitar in college as a secondary instrument. During her second year she was asked to play bass in the school’s jazz band. Although bass is a secondary instrument, she has successfully helped beginner to intermediate level students cultivate skills in playing the bass guitar.
After graduating, she continued to cultivate her skills as a freelance musician by writing and performing independently and with local bands. She expanded her teaching practice by teaching at local music stores, in public and private schools, online, and from home. Jenafer teaches guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, mandolin, composition, and music theory.

Jeffery Lynn- Creative Director, Music Teacher

Jeffery has been working as a professional musician in San Diego since 2006. Since this time, he has been refining his skills as a songwriter, performer, and recording artist. His skills as a freelance performer set him apart from traditional music teachers, and help students who have aspirations to record and perform their own music. Jeffery holds degrees in audio engineering and music composition. He has recorded two full length EPs, and performed in multiple original projects. He is a dedicated member of San Diego’s premier Tom Petty cover band, Full Moon Fever, performing lead vocals and guitar. His skill and work in this project have been recognized through write-ups in NBC San Diego, SD Reader, DoSD, and SD News. He has played major venues including The Fox Theater, Viejas’ Dreamcatcher, 4th & B, and the San Diego County Fair. In addition to these accolades, he has recorded two EPs with local bands The Cutaways and The Smokes. He is currently working and performing with his original band, The Psychlops, and has released a full length LP that he wrote, recorded, and produced.
Jeffery’s passion for music began in childhood. He grew up in a musical home. His mother nurtured his musical aspirations by immersing him in the music of the great classics. Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, he drew upon deep inspiration from Chicago and Delta blues. As a child he sang in choir, and began writing, singing, and performing in a garage band in high school. He learned early on about the joy that is derivative of being a musician, and made a decision that it would be his life’s work to share this gift with others. Jeff joined Birdsong Music in 2020, and has been thriving as a private music instructor. Students love working with him. He applies an adaptive approach to teaching both private and group music lessons. He believes in meeting students where they are both in skill and desire. He has successfully supported students’ mastery of both their instrument and craft. Jeff is currently booking both private and group music lessons for voice, guitar, bass, piano, drums, percussion, songwriting, and performance.
